  • Swale Stroke Group honoured with national award

    The Kent based Swale Stroke Group has been recognised for the support they offer local stroke survivors at the Stroke Association’s Life After Stroke Awards. Swale Stroke Group received the award, sponsored by Gloup, from Rudolph Walker, in recognition for the outstanding help, advice and encouragement they offer local stroke survivors.

  • Hampshire stroke survivor scoops national award

    Hampshire stroke survivor Sean Crane has been presented with an Adult Courage Award sponsored by Vision Express at the Stroke Association’s Life After Stroke Awards. Sean, 71, from Milford-on-Sea received his award, received his award from Floella Benjamin and Dave Hill, in recognition of his passion and commitment in helping other stroke survivors in his community.

  • ​Septuagenarian stroke survivor wins national carer award

    A 70-year-old carer has been presented with a National Carer Award sponsored by Boehringer Ingleheim, at the Stroke Association’s Life After Stroke Awards. Paul Massey from Griton, in the East of England, received the award from Alistair Stewart and Laura Tobin for recognition of his selfless work as a carer to his ex-wife, who had a stroke two years ago.

  • ​London stroke survivor scoops creative arts award

    London stroke survivor and sculptor John Somerville has been presented with a Creative Arts Award at the Stroke Association’s Life After Stroke Awards. John, 65, the creator of a life-sized statue of Mike Milligan in a Grade II listed building in High Barnet, received the award from Andrew Marr and Makcus Birdman in recognition of his commitment to rebuilding his life after stroke.
