The Stroke Association calls on Yorkshire runners to help conquer stroke
The Stroke Association is appealing to runners in Yorkshire to help conquer stroke, by joining the charity’s team at the Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon on Sunday 09 October.
This popular and picturesque run takes participants past some of York's historic sites and along scenic country lanes, making it an ideal event for runners of all abilities.
Jo Beverley, Regional Fundraiser from the Stroke Association, said: “Taking part in the Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon is a fun and inspiring experience, but there’s a serious purpose behind it; stroke is the leading cause of complex adult disability in the UK. At the Stroke Association, we want to be there for everyone affected by stroke, so please do join our team and help us raise the funds that could make this a reality.
“In return for joining the Stroke Association's team, we'll be with you every step of the way. You'll get an expert training plan, weekly emails with training and fundraising tips, a Stroke Association t-shirt and lots of help and support.”
