Over 30 Stroke survivors step out in Reading to help others

Over 30 stroke survivors and their family from Reading and surrounding areas came together to Step Out for Stroke on the 12th July 2015.The group signed up to the sponsored walking event in Christchurch Meadows to raise funds for the Stroke Association.

Father and son team run the Reading half marathon for wife and Mum.

Donna Boyles from Reading watched on with pride as her husband and son ran the half marathon at the weekend.The father and son team, who are both local football referees, signed up for the run to raise money the Stroke Association after Donna had a stroke in January this year.

Stroke survivors send Christmas messages to others in Acute Stroke Unit

Stroke survivors from the Wokingham Stroke Support Group have created Christmas decorations with messages for new stroke survivors to encourage them in their fight to recovery. Messages of ‘Keep smiling’, ‘Keep going’ and ‘Don’t give up’ are included in the decorations which have been used to decorate the tree in the Acute Stroke unit at Royal Berkshire Hospital.
