Have you had a stroke in the last six years?

Have you cared for someone who has experienced a stroke in the last six years?

Do you think you could represent the views of others?

The Scottish Government has made a major commitment to improving stroke treatment and care and as a consequence we are looking for people with experience of Stroke to ensure that the voice of lived experience is a core part of this journey of improvement.

As a panel member you would be supported to seek the views of other individuals who have had a stroke or who is a carer of someone who has had a stroke, listen and respect different opinions, advise, comment and help shape the future of Stroke Services in Scotland.

The Scottish Government will arrange an informal chat where you can ask them further questions about the role and what commitment is expected of panel members.

If you are still interested after that conversation, you will be supported with the application process.

We aim to appoint to the National Panel before Christmas, and future meetings and discussions will be held on Zoom until face to face meetings can resume.

NHS Tayside is looking for people with Lived Experience of Stroke - please take part!

NHS Tayside is looking for volunteers to gather views on how they can best deliver high quality Stroke Care across Tayside from hospital admission through to return to community living.

Interested to volunteer?

Requirements:

Those affected by stroke - survivors and carers living in Tayside only
Stroke survivors must have had a stroke in the past 6 years.

What does it involve?

Participating in up to six meetings per year
Discussing NHS Tayside's current services and plans for improvement
Sharing positive and negative experiences, and suggestions on improvements to Tayside stroke services in the future.

The Stroke Association's UK Life After Stroke Awards recognise the achievements of everyone affected by stroke. We celebrate stroke survivors for showing tremendous spirit and determination after their stroke. We also commend carers, volunteers, stroke clubs and health professionals who are with stroke survivors every step of the way.

Make May Purple 2016

Make May Purple aims to raise awareness of stroke. Throughout the month, people will be holding purple-themed bake sales, getting involved with Know Your Blood Pressure events and hosting community fairs to help conquer stroke.
