  • Theatre Royal Plymouth checks its Blood Pressure

    The team from the Stroke Association in Plymouth joined the backstage and front of house staff at the Theatre Royal Plymouth to raise awareness of stroke and give a free blood pressure check to all staff. The visit was part of the charity’s Know Your Blood Pressure campaign.

  • Beverly takes up Inca challenge for her sister Georgie

    Beverly Salt, from Bristol, will be embarking on the challenge of her lifetime, on the 16th March 2015. Beverly will be walking the Inca Trail over four days to raise money for the Stroke Association and Your Voice, a local support group, run by her sister Georgie & fellow stroke survivor Paul Barnes for Stroke Survivors in Devon.

  • £100 raised through Sip for Stroke at Elms Nursing Home

    The Elms Nursing Home in Bembridge hosted a ‘Sip for Stroke’ to raise funds for the Stroke Association on the 12th February 2015. Stroke survivors, their friends and family and staff from the home got together to celebrate Life after Stroke.

  • Joanne is taking part in Resolution run for Nan and daughter

    Joanne Way, from Weston Super Mare, will be taking part in The Stroke Association’s Resolution Run in Ashton Court on 8th March 2015. Joanne will be running for her daughter Lexi (3 yrs and 8mths old) who had a stroke in the womb and Nanny who sadly passed away after a major stroke.

    Chris Wright, from Medstead, wants to invite others to join him and help conquer stroke by taking part in the Thames Bridges Bike Ride on Sunday 10 May 2015. Chris who has had a mini-stroke (Transient Ischemic Attack) wants to raise awareness of stroke and help others.

  • Strike a chord for stroke

    Stroke survivors from Cwmbran, New Inn and Newport are being encouraged to discover their musical side and join a new choir.
    Stroke Association, in partnership with Head for Arts, is organising the choir, which is made up of people who have been affected by stroke, their family and carers.

    Claris Diaz, 32, originally from California, now lives in Cardiff and has devoted her life to stroke research after her childhood was affected by stroke.
    From the age of 10 Claris began to have frequent Transient Ischemic Attacks (TIAs also known as mini strokes). The symptoms of TIA can pass very quickly but are similar to stroke symptoms.
