    The Stroke Association is supporting Salt Awareness Week which runs from 29 February – 6 March 2016. Current guidelines suggest we should be eating no more than about a teaspoon of salt a day but statistics show we are eating far more than we require. Eating large amounts of salt can cause high blood pressure which is the single biggest risk factor for stroke.

    A Hertfordshire mother of two will don a Pink Lady® apple suit at the 2016 Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday 24 April to raise vital funds for the Stroke Association.
    Mari McEleney, 39, will take on the 26.2 mile race to raise funds for the charity. Mari, a cardiac specialist nurse, has been running for six years and the London Marathon will be her ninthmarathon.

    A group of stroke survivors and their carers from Kings Lynn are learning to express themselves in new ways at a weekly art and craft group organised by the Stroke Association.
    The group takes place every Wednesday at Gaywood Church Rooms in Kings Lynn.
    During the workshops, stroke survivors and carers learn different art techniques such as watercolour, pencil, ink, and mosaic.

    A new support group to help stroke survivors in London return to work has launched at Islington Central Library on Fieldway Crescent, and will meet every Wednesday at 11am.
    The weekly group, called ‘Job Club’, is run by the Stroke Association and will provide a place for people looking for work to create a CV, job search, and practice their interview skills.
