Local stroke survivor Richard Gillard is set to tackle a 125 mile bike ride to raise vital funds for the Stroke Association.
The Stroke Association is encouraging people to make a pledge which counts, and take part in a 5k,10k or 15k Resolution Run on 20 March 2016 at Ashton Court Estate.
The event is one of 28 fundraising Resolution Runs taking place across the UK this spring. These runs provide the perfect motivation to get in shape after Christmas, while helping to conquer stroke.

A Bedminster stroke survivor is calling on people in Bristol to help him conquer a hopping mad challenge on Saturday 31 October at Kip Keino Stadium, to raise vital funds for Stroke Association.
Martin Mienczakowski, 31, is looking for a team of volunteers to witness his Guinness World Record attempt for the furthest distance travelled on a space hopper in twenty-four hours.
On Christmas Day
Morwhenna Woolcock, 40, from Bristol has just completed an epic adventure travelling from the Brecon Beacons to Morwenstow following (roughly) in the footsteps of the 5th century Saint Morwenna. Stroke survivor Morwhenna completed the 177 mile adventure travelling by bike, boat, and on foot in just 21 days.
A special evening of music has been organised to raise funds for the Stroke Association. Over 150 performers from the City of Bristol choir, Bristol Youth choir and the Royal Mail choir will be singing in a special concert on the 25th June 2015 at St Georges in Bristol.
35 people from Bristol took part in a Firewalk in the City centre on the 27th February 2015.Together they walked around 1,400 feet over hot coals to raise around £3,500 for the Stroke Association.
Beverly Salt, from Bristol, will be embarking on the challenge of her lifetime, on the 16th March 2015. Beverly will be walking the Inca Trail over four days to raise money for the Stroke Association and Your Voice, a local support group, run by her sister Georgie & fellow stroke survivor Paul Barnes for Stroke Survivors in Devon.
Joanne Way, from Weston Super Mare, will be taking part in The Stroke Association’s Resolution Run in Ashton Court on 8th March 2015. Joanne will be running for her daughter Lexi (3 yrs and 8mths old) who had a stroke in the womb and Nanny who sadly passed away after a major stroke.
The Stroke Association is challenging people to face their fears and walk bare foot across a Firewalk.The heated fundraising event will take place in Millennium Square, Bristol on the 27th February 2015.
Stroke
survivor and Banwell resident Peter Griffith is gearing up to take part in the
first ever Bristol 100/60/25 cycle ride on Sunday 28 September. Peter aims to
tackle the event’s 100 mile route to raise £500 for
the Stroke Association.
