A young mother and stroke survivor from Wakefield has successfully completed the 2015 Virgin Money London Marathon, dressed as a Pink Lady® apple to raise vital funds for the Stroke Association.
Two friends Linda Holland from Herne bay and Derek Dummer (Del) from Whitstabletook a massive leap on the 7th April 2015when they completed a skydive to raise funds for the Stroke Association. The pair were motivated to take on a major challenge after they saw the determination of their friend’s Dad, Fred Tugwell, who had a massive stroke last May.
Two local stroke survivors and volunteers are set to take part in the charity’s Step out for Stroke event, despite being more than 1,600 miles away from Scunthorpe, near Gibraltar.
The Stroke Association is inviting people in Lincolnshire to join them for a Sip for Stroke event, to celebrate the launch of Action on Stroke Month 2015.

Nick is on long term sick leave recovering from a stroke he had in March 2013. Following the stroke Nick has weakness on his right side and communication difficulties with his speech.
